Supplier Diversity Symposium in Higher Education

Second Annual Supplier Diversity Symposium in Higher Education | Inclusive Entrepreneurship (northeastern.edu) – July 2023

“Training for Higher Education P-Card Holders” (Slide 7) is an idea that “garnered a great deal of interest” at this Symposium, according to The Northeastern Lab for Inclusive Entrepreneurship’s, it’s host and just one institution with whom the University of Connecticut Supplier Diversity Program (USDP) has shared its success story.  UConn’s story can also be found in the Spring 2023 Edition of the NAEP Procurement Journal.  The USDP contracted with LightSpeed Edu, a minority-owned company to develop and launch their Supplier Diversity E-Learning course on October 1, 2019, entitled, “Embracing Supplier Diversity at UConn”. This E-Learning course continues to serve as a pre-requisite for Procard holders to receive their new or renewed Procards, with the objective of reminding cardholders to partner with the USDP’s efforts, as they exercise their privilege and responsibility to inclusively purchase on the University’s behalf.  To date the on-line course has been successfully completed more than 1700 times, thanks to the on-going collaboration between the USDP team, led by Veronica Cook, UConn’s Purchasing Card Services team, led by Nancy Patrylak, and our University Procard-holders.  Thank you for helping UConn to be a leader in this effort, as we together move the training into positive action and results for the many S/MBE’s who’ve expressed an interest in doing business with us!
